At Lainesmead Primary, we believe that all children should have access to good quality music education and singing every week. We believe that music is a truly inclusive subject that transcends economic and academic boundaries and that is a huge benefit on the wellbeing of our children.
As a school we have evaluated the gaps in learning for Music due to lockdowns and Covid.
These gaps have been identified and will continue to be covered through singing assemblies or are already within the subsequent year’s curriculum; therefore, ensuring that all the necessary components are in place for future learning.
This term we have been singing songs chosen by Swindon Schools Music Service to perform with other schools at 'The Wyvern.' Unfortunately the performance was unable to go ahead so we performed our songs 'live' to parents via Facebook. If you would like to take a listen, please visit: https://youtu.be/GB16-kjoaFQ
On 16th November we performed a medley of Christmas songs at The Wyvern Theatre. The children loved every minute of being on the stage and especially loved it when the snow fell! Well done for your hard work!
