Admissions

Admissions to Reception (EYFS2) at Lainesmead

The school has an agreed admission number of 30 pupils for entry in EYFS2 (Reception) from September 2024. This is a reduction from 60 in previous years due to the falling birth rate in the area and was agreed by the Local Authority during the last academic year.

Admissions

All Admissions are the responsibility of the Local Authority and places are allocated in line with their Admissions Policy. If you are a parent/carer considering sending your children to us, you are very welcome to telephone to make an appointment.

For pupils who are starting school for the first time in Reception/Early Years or for those moving on to Secondary School parent/ carers must make an application by completing the online form - please use the link provided.

Your application for Primary, Infant & Junior Places September 2024 should be submitted by 15 January 2024 and offers are made on the 16th April 2024. After this date late applications can only be made.

Your application for Secondary Places for September 2024 should be submitted by 31 October and offers will be made on 1st March 2024. After this date late applications can only be made.

For pupils who wish to start in any other year group, parent/carers must contact the Swindon Admission Service to complete an online ‘in–year admission form'. The school is notified of pupils who have been offered a place at the school. The school then contacts the parent/carer to arrange an induction meeting and a start date is agreed between the school and the parent/carer. Parent/carers must take up offer of a place within 28 school days or the place is withdrawn.
