📚 Our Book Fair is back today! 📚 We look forward to welcoming more of our families to our Book Fair today from 1:40pm in the school hall! A huge thank you to everyone who came along yesterday and supported us. 💚 We've already made a fantastic start towards earning rewards that we can spend on even more lovely books for our school! 📖 Every book purchased helps us build up those rewards, so not only are you encouraging a love of reading at home, you're also helping us add to the books our children can enjoy at Lainesmead! 💳 Cash and card payments accepted. We hope to see lots more of you this afternoon! 😊📚

📚🌟 Today, our whole school took part in Take 10 to Read, joining thousands of children and adults across the country in an attempt to break the world record for the most people reading at the same time! 🌍📖 KS1 heard a fantastic reading of Super Uma by Rashmi Sirdeshpande, followed by a draw-along activity with illustrator Nakul P. KS2 spent time with Frank Cottrell-Boyce as he read from The Blockbusters! and explored themes including cinema and culture. It was wonderful to see everyone pause, pick up a book and enjoy the magic of reading together. Well done to all of our fantastic readers!

🎭🎨 An Arts MAD Day to Remember! 🎶💃 Australia and New Zealand Classes had a fantastic time visiting Lawn Manor Academy for their Arts MAD Day! The children enjoyed a wonderful variety of creative activities, from learning and performing a dance sequence to becoming detectives in a drama challenge, searching for clues and evidence! 🔎 They also had the opportunity to explore their musical and artistic talents through music and sketching activities. 🎵 What a lovely opportunity for our children to try something different, express their creativity and enjoy new experiences beyond the classroom! A huge thank you to Mrs Benson and all the staff at Lawn Manor Academy for welcoming our children and putting on such an enjoyable day. 💚 Here are some photos of the children enjoying their day! 📸

🇩🇪 Germany Class Celebrate Germany Day! 🇩🇪 Germany Class had a fantastic time celebrating Germany Day with lots of fun activities throughout the day! They practised counting in German, learnt how to say good morning and good afternoon, and even "cheersed" their water bottles as they learnt a little about Oktoberfest! 🥨 Of course, no celebration would be complete without some treats – the children enjoyed pretzels and gingerbread men, before getting moving with some polka dancing and German Diskothek music! 💃🕺🎶 They finished their celebrations by colouring pictures of German foods and artefacts. What a brilliant way to learn more about the country their class is named after – it certainly looks like Germany Class had a great party! 🇩🇪🥨🎉
