Breakfast Club – Parent Information Guide


Welcome to Breakfast Club

Our Breakfast Club is here to help families by providing a safe, friendly place for children before school starts. Children can enjoy a healthy breakfast and fun activities with their friends, ready for the school day ahead.


What We Offer

  • A calm, welcoming environment where children feel safe and supported.
  • A healthy, balanced breakfast every morning.
  • Creative activities such as crafts and drawing after breakfast.
  • Supervision from experienced staff who know the children well.

Breakfast Menu

Each day, children can choose from:

  • Drinks: Milk or water.
  • Cereals: Low-sugar options such as cornflakes, Weetabix, and porridge.
  • Bread & Spreads: Wholemeal bread with butter, jam, honey, or marmite.
  • Extras: Yogurt and fresh fruit.

Times and Routines

  • Opening time: 8:00am (no entry before this time).
  • Last entry: 8:10am – children arriving after this time will not be admitted.
  • Drop-off: Parents/carers drop children at the main school gate. A staff member will welcome children at the reception door. For safeguarding, parents do not enter the building.
  • End of session: At 8:30am, staff take children to their classrooms.

Booking and Payments

  • Breakfast Club runs every school day during term time.
  • Parents must book by Thursday of the week before via email.
  • You can book for the whole week or on individual days.
  • Cancellations: Please give 24 hours’ notice. Fees for cancelled sessions will be credited back.
  • Cost: £3.30 per session.
  • Free Places: Children entitled to Free School Meals attend free of charge.

Parent Responsibilities

When booking Breakfast Club, parents agree to:

  • Keep the school updated with current contact details.
  • Pay for sessions at the time of booking.
  • Pay for all booked sessions unless cancelled in time.
  • Make sure children arrive on time (8:00am).
  • Ensure children follow the school rules.
  • Understand that if behaviour is persistently poor, a child may lose their place.

Safety and Care

  • A trained paediatric first aider is always present.
  • First aid facilities are available in the hall.
  • All food is prepared following health and hygiene standards.
  • The school’s Behaviour Policy applies during Breakfast Club.
  • Numbers are limited to 30 children per day.

Closures

Breakfast Club is closed on:

  • Whole-school closure days.
  • School holidays.
  • Emergency closure days.
  • Days affected by industrial action.

 

Please note, Breakfast Club will not be open on the following dates:

 

  • 5 January 26 - TD Day
  • 23 February 26 - TD Day
  • 17 July 26 - TD Day

After School Childcare – Parent Information Guide

Welcome

Lainesmead Primary School and Nursery offers After School Childcare (Paid Provision) for all pupils. Sessions take place in The Burrow (Key Stage 1 playground), a safe and secure space with its own toilets, kitchen, gated access, CCTV, and enclosed grounds.


Session Times & Prices (from 1st September 2025)

Monday – Thursday (term time only):

  • Session 1: 3.15pm – 4.30pm £8.80
  • Session 2: 3.15pm – 5.30pm £13.20
  • Session 3: 3.15pm – 6.00pm £16.50

Friday (term time only):

  • Session: 1.35pm – 3.30pm £9.90

Booking Information

  • All bookings must be made by email:

  • Maximum of 16 places per day – allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Notice required: 5 working days.
    (Bookings with less notice cannot be accepted, except emergencies – see below.)
  • Confirmation: Places are only secured once you receive a confirmation email.
  • Payment: Must be made via Parent Pay within 3 days of confirmation.
    • If payment is not received, the booking will be cancelled.
  • Termly bookings: You can book for the whole term at the end of the previous term.
  • Emergency bookings: Same-day bookings may be possible in genuine emergencies if places are available. These must be paid for on the same day.

Cancellations

  • If you cancel at least 24 hours before the session, your Parent Pay account will be credited.

 

Payment Options

  • Parent Pay (log-on and access payment option for After School Club).
  • Childcare Vouchers – the school can register with your chosen provider if applicable.

Collection Procedures

  • Children are collected from The Burrow at the end of their booked session.
  • Parents must enter via the KS1 playground gate (all other gates will be locked).
  • Parents are not permitted inside The Burrow for safeguarding reasons.
  • If someone new is collecting your child, please inform the school office in advance.
  • Staff will contact you before releasing your child if they are unsure about a collector’s identity.
  • Children may not walk home alone after their session.
  • Late collection fee: £5.00 per 15 minutes if you arrive after your booked time.

Club Closures

The After School Club will not run on:

  • Partial / Whole school closure days (e.g. end of term early finish).
  • Evenings where staff training is taking place.
  • School holidays.
  • Emergency school closures.
  • Industrial action days.

⚠️ The school reserves the right to withdraw childcare provision at any time.

 

Please note that After School Club will not be available on the following dates:

 

  • 22 October 25 - Last day of Term 1
  • 19 December 25 - Last day of term 2
  • 5 January 26 - TD Day
  • 28 January 26 - Staff Training
  • 4 February 26 - Staff Training
  • 13 February 26 - Last day of term 3
  • 23 February 26 - TD Day 
  • 27 March 26 - Last day of term 4 
  • 22 May 26 - Last day of term 5
  • 17 July 26 - TD Day
  • 22 July 26 - Last day of Term 6 

 

Please ensure you check these dates regularly as additional dates may be added throughout the school year. 


Behaviour

  • Children are expected to follow school rules and behave appropriately.
  • The school’s Behaviour Policy applies.
  • Persistent poor behaviour may result in suspension or a permanent ban from the club.
