Collaboration

Collaboration : Stronger Together

At Lainesmead Primary School and Nursery, we believe that great schools do not work in isolation.

We are proud members of the Compass Collaboration, a partnership of local schools who share a commitment to high standards, inclusive practice and continuous improvement. Our collaboration is built on trust, openness and a shared belief that every child deserves the very best education.

Working together strengthens us. It keeps us reflective, outward-facing and ambitious.

A Diverse and Inclusive Partnership

Our collaboration includes five Local Authority maintained schools, a stand-alone academy and a specialist setting.

This diversity strengthens our work. It brings together different perspectives, experiences and expertise, ensuring that our practice reflects a wide range of contexts.

Working alongside a specialist school enriches our understanding of inclusion and strengthens our provision for pupils with additional needs. It reinforces our commitment to ensuring that every child feels valued, supported and able to succeed.

Leadership that is outward-facing

Our senior leaders meet regularly with headteachers and deputies from across the partnership to discuss:

  • School improvement priorities
  • Curriculum development
  • Safeguarding and inclusion
  • Attendance and wellbeing
  • Teaching and learning
  • National developments in education

These professional conversations provide both support and constructive challenge. They ensure that our decisions are informed, balanced and always focused on improving outcomes for pupils.

Collaboration keeps our leadership sharp. It encourages reflection, honest evaluation and a shared responsibility for raising standards.

Professional learning across schools

Collaboration strengthens our staff at every level.

Through shared training, leadership networks and joint moderation opportunities, our teachers and leaders work alongside colleagues from other schools to:

  • Refine curriculum sequencing
  • Secure consistency in standards
  • Develop subject knowledge
  • Strengthen SEND and inclusion practice
  • Share effective strategies

This collective approach builds expertise across the partnership and ensures that our children benefit from the strongest possible professional knowledge base.
