Our Nursery

• A qualified teacher leads the nursery full-time

• Space for 39 children per session

• Located within the main school building for safety and connection to school life

• Large, bright, open-plan classroom with high-quality indoor and outdoor resources

What’s Inside

Our nursery is built for play, discovery, and learning. Children can explore:

• Water and sand play

• Role play and real-life activities

• Construction toys and creative materials

• A cosy reading area

• A child-height kitchen for cooking and messy play

• Smart board for interactive learning

• Toilets and changing area

Outdoor Learning

Children have free-flow access to a large, safe outdoor area with:

• Hard and grassy surfaces

• Trees and bushes

• A large covered space for all-weather play

Outdoor play is key to our approach. It supports imagination, language development, physical skills, and social confidence. Research shows that children talk more and learn more when playing outside!

Please send your child with the following items:

• They can wear school uniform or their own clothes

• A named water bottle every day

• A pair of wellies to keep at nursery

• A spare change of clothes (just in case)

Please name everything clearly to help us return lost items.

How to Apply

To apply for a nursery place:

• Call us on 01793 529106 to request an admissions pack

• Or download the admissions form here:

We also welcome visits! You can book a visit to look around the nursery with our EYFS Lead by emailing: 📧 admin@lainesmeadprimary.co.uk

Once we receive your completed form, we’ll check availability and let you know if we can offer your requested hours.

If a place is available:

• You’ll receive confirmation from us

• You’ll be invited to a visit:

   - A home visit if your child is starting at the beginning of a term

   - A school visit if starting mid-term

This visit helps us get to know your child and make their start feel safe and special.

Your child will then be invited to a 1-hour settling-in session. If this goes smoothly, they can begin their agreed hours with us.

Admissions to Reception (EYFS2) at Lainesmead

The school has an agreed admission number of 30 pupils for entry in EYFS2 (Reception) from September 2024. This will be the same in September 2025. This is a reduction from 60 in previous years due to the falling birth rate in the area and was agreed by the Local Authority during the last academic year.
