Strive, Achieve, Excel; Believe in a Limitless Future.
Our Year 6 Prefects play a vital leadership role in school life. They are chosen to be role models who demonstrate our school values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, Compassion, Cooperation, and Curiosity in everything they do. Prefects are expected to support staff and pupils throughout the school day, including helping in the lunch hall, monitoring corridors, setting up for assemblies, and looking out for younger children on the playground. Some also act as personal assistants to members of the Senior Leadership Team.
The application process is designed to reflect the importance of the role. Pupils write a formal letter of application and take part in an interview with Mrs Mepstead and Mrs Crouch. Successful applicants are those who show reliability, maturity, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to lead by example.
Being a prefect is a privilege and a responsibility. Once appointed, pupils are expected to uphold high standards of behaviour, take initiative, and support the smooth running of the school each day.
Here are all our dedicated prefects who help set the standard of behaviour we expected at Lainesmead.
