Uniform Information

School Uniform

Lainesmead Primary and Nursery School is moving to an Active Uniform, designed to support children’s comfort, confidence, movement and learning throughout the school day.

Phased introduction

  • From September 2025: pupils may choose to wear the Active Uniform on non-PE days
  • From September 2026: the Active Uniform will become the expected everyday school uniform for all pupils

This phased approach ensures families have time to prepare and supports affordability.

Everyday Active Uniform (from September 2026)

Children should wear:

  • A plain white, light blue or navy polo shirt
(branded or unbranded – school logo only, no other logos)
  • Navy or black joggers or leggings
  • Shorts in warmer weather
  • A plain or school-branded sweatshirt, jumper, fleece or hoodie
  • Black trainers
(Velcro fastening unless the child can independently tie laces)

PE Kit (on PE days)

On PE days, pupils should wear:

  • Their house-coloured PE T-shirt
  • Joggers, leggings or shorts
  • Black trainers

Additional footwear (e.g. football boots) may be permitted for clubs but is not required for curriculum PE.

Outdoor and weather requirements

  • A waterproof coat should be brought to school in wet or cold weather
  • All pupils must have a pair of wellies in school at all times
  • Hats, gloves and scarves are encouraged in colder weather

Affordability and support

The school is committed to keeping uniform affordable and inclusive.

Branded items are kept to a minimum, and families may purchase unbranded alternatives where appropriate.

Support is available for families who need help with uniform costs. Please contact the school office in confidence.
