It was lovely to welcome back the Year 6 children and staff from their residential trip to Little Canada on the Isle of Wight.  The weather was fantastic for the whole trip.  The children really showed the school values and lived the school vision during their time on residential.  Many photos have already been shared on the school’s twitter account which have also been placed on the school website.  More photos will be shared on the website soon but here is a small variety of what they got up to!
Year 5 parents, make sure you sign your child up for this wonderful experience!

We have been so pleased with the attendance we have achieved this term.  Look out soon for some more prizes and awards for regular attendance at school!

I would like to use this opportunity to remind you that in order to reinforce the strong community ethos of the school children are expected to abide by the school uniform policy.  Please could I reiterate the school policy on footwear which states that shoes are expected as footwear and NOT trainers.  Furthermore, school policy states that hair should be kept neat, with no extreme haircuts and that any accessories should blue or black – no large bows please.  Many thanks for your support with this.

The school’s band of parent volunteers are working hard already preparing events for Christmas, including the school Christmas Fair and a Christmas disco. We are currently fundraising for the following piece of equipment for EYFS and KS1, as KS2 have previously benefitted from the fundraising:

We have just signed the school up as a cause on the website Easyfundraising.

Easyfundraising is an entirely free service that allows people to shop directly at their favourite online store via the links on the website and raise a donation for their school cause once a purchase is made. Donations can be up to 15% of the value of your purchase, depending on the retailer and the item purchased. There are thousands of stores that are already participating with leading high street brands such as Amazon, Expedia, John Lewis and more, making it one of the most effortless fundraising ideas for schools.

All you have to do is set up an account (it is free) and then access other websites via easyfundraising.  This ensures that any purchase you make is tracked to your easy fundraising account and therefore automatically raises money for the school.  It really is that easy – there is no catch and you do not have to pay extra for your product.

If you are completing online shopping, especially in the run up to Christmas, please could we urge you to login via the easyfundraising website, set Lainesmead as your cause to start raising money for the school!
