SCHOOL MENU/KITCHEN

It has been a very difficult term for the school with regards to the hot dinner menu.  Unfortunately, there have been a number of staff absences in relation to the kitchen which has impacted on the menu that has been delivered.  We fully appreciate that, having ordered a meal for your child/children, it is difficult when that choice is then changed.

This is an issue the school is working hard to resolve and as a result we are currently in the process of recruiting a Catering Manager.  A key aspect of this new role will be working with children and parents on improving our hot meal provision, with a greater choice of meals, more variety each day as well as providing further opportunities to run cookery clubs within and across the school. We will let you know as soon as we can the outcome.

PARENT VIEW

It is extremely important to us that we hear your views about the school.  This enables us to learn and make changes about the running of the school to ensure it is a place where children can learn to the best of their ability and that there continues to be a family feel about us.  Therefore, please could I ask you to complete the parent survey on the Parent View website.  This is invaluable for us in looking at how we can improve as a school.

VALUES

Value for October: RESPONSIBILITY

In our first assembly of October we looked at the value of responsibility by comparing the responsibility of different people such as the Prime Minister, Doctors, the England Football Manager and Simon Cowell.  The children provided lots of interesting answers.  We then looked at the different responsibilities the adults in school have as well as the prefects and Senior Prefects.

The children were then able to reflect on the responsibilities they have and knew that these are on display in each classroom.  The children are going to work hard on displaying this value for October and ensuring they show the responsibilities entrusted to them.
